We are seed funding for the Big Give Christmas Challenge!

Too early to talk about Christmas…?

Kick start your plans early as we want to help you get going with the Big Give Christmas Challenge. Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity are providing seed funding to up to 10 charities in Greater Manchester to participate in the UK’s biggest collaborative fundraising campaign.

The Christmas Challenge champions a wide range of charitable organisations with the chance to double donations through match funding for one week of giving in the run up to Christmas.

Every charity who applies must secure a minimum of £1000 in pledges to be eligible. We will seed up to 10 charities with the minimum pledge, where their work contributes to ending homelessness and/or the need for rough sleeping in Greater Manchester, securing their place in the Christmas Challenge.

Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity is the only place-based funder in the city-region that ensures that money reaches the frontline organisations and services that support people at risk of or experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping. Supporting those organisations to participate in the Big Give launches a new grant programme which will help channel much needed funds into the city-region.

In 2024, the challenge raised £44.7 million for 1267 charities across the UK with causes ranging from global poverty to gender equality. So, to receive funding in this year’s challenge apply via the Big Give website below before 5pm, Tuesday 4th July.

Applications for Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity pledge will run from 5th July – 31st July, with a decision expected to be made by 20th August before the Big Give pledge deadline on 29th August. Check back soon for how to apply.
