Wanderwalk raises £4,800+ for A Bed Every Night

At Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity, we champion bold and innovative approaches to fundraising - approaches that have enabled us to support over 170 organisations working to end homelessness and rough sleeping across our city-region. 

Euan Kellie, founder of Euan Kellie Property Solutions, recently set the bar high. Over the course of two days, Euan walked an exhausting 60 miles across all ten Greater Manchester boroughs, raising £4,850 (at last count!) for our flagship scheme, A Bed Every Night. Dubbed ‘Wanderwalk’, the challenge saw Euan walk for 22.5 hours, starting with Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham, before covering Tameside, Stockport, Trafford, Manchester and Salford on day two. 

Euan’s inspiration came from his firm’s involvement in the Embassy Village project, an initiative that provides transitional housing for people experiencing homelessness.

“I’m trying to piece my brain together after an incredible couple of days,” Euan said at the finish line at Salford Civic Centre. “But I just want to say thank you to all the people that helped make this whole experience incredible. The borough representatives who took the time to meet me all made me feel incredibly welcome and I’ve loved every minute walking around Greater Manchester.” 

Thanks to Euan’s efforts, more people will access not just a place to sleep, but vital wraparound support to help them rebuild their lives. At £32 per person per night, funds raised through Wanderwalk will go toward providing safety and a path forward.

“Euan’s campaign is a wonderful example of what the people and businesses of GM do best, standing together behind an incredible vision, that no one should be without a home. A Bed Every Night has contributed to a 43% reduction in rough sleeping since it launched, and we’re proud to be a lifeline to that pioneering scheme. We can’t do that without the support of people like Euan.” 

Since its launch, A Bed Every Night has supported more than 87,800 nights of accommodation across Greater Manchester.
