Spring/Summer Small Awards Programme - 2025

Spring/Summer Programme

Applications are now being taken for the second of our Small Awards Programme. We are inviting organisations across Greater Manchester to apply for grants, worth up to £10,000, to support their work with people at risk of or experiencing homelessness and/or rough sleeping.

To be eligible to apply, your organisation must be based in Greater Manchester or the work funded/enabled must only be delivered in Greater Manchester. As well as charities, we will also consider funding public bodies, CIOs, community groups, social enterprises, campaigning organisations and commercial companies whose work aligns to our priority areas and values. Organisations of any size will be considered, but we will prioritise applications from smaller charities.

We fund across three priority areas: Emergency Response, Places & Spaces, and Targeted Prevention. We particularly welcome applications from organisations who wish to test or pilot new, innovative projects supporting people at risk of or experiencing homelessness and/or rough sleeping.

How to apply.

To apply, please submit via email a case for support, either as a word document (2-page, font arial 11, normal margins- maximum) or a short video (6 minutes maximum). Alternatively, you may submit an existing funding application if you are happy this covers all information requested below.

Your case for support must cover the following questions:

  1. How much are you applying for (£10,000 max)?

  2. What is the grant for?

  3. How does it fit within one or more of our strategic grant-priority areas (emergency response, places and spaces, or targeted prevention)?

  4. How does it align with one or more of our charity values (pioneering, accountable, collaborative, effective)?

  5. How will work to help move the dial on ending homelessness in Greater Manchester?

  6. What outcomes are you expecting during the term of the grant? Will you expect to see outcomes past the grant? How will monitor / evaluate this?

For all applicants, a budget breakdown is requested (one page word document max). If you wish to submit a separate, existing monitoring and evaluation plan used in your organisation that adequately covers your intentions for this application, this can also be submitted as an appendix.

Please note, if you propose a project to test or pilot, you will be required to submit an additional monitoring and evaluation plan if successful.

Please also complete and include this eligibility checker questionnaire with your application.

All applications should be submitted by email to enquiries@gmmayorscharity.org.uk, with the subject ‘Small Grants Application’.

All applications must be received by 17.00 Monday16th June. We anticipate a decision on successful applications by the end of June.

Please read our full guidelines prior to submission, including details of how decisions are made and what to consider in your application.
